I was in Southern Italy at a workshop in a small village called Molfetta at the Mediterranean Sea.
Before leaving the place, I visited the old part of it, although I was told it wasn’t a good idea to do so. A lot of old houses – inhabited only by homeless people, stray dogs and cats; crumpling walls supported by wooden joists, empty windows and ghosts, and greenish cats gazing audaciously. Stone streets and nailed down doors. The unique atmosphere of Old Italy, which was a pleasure to paint.
